Sessions
This is where it all began. Before the world tour, we were mostly listening to British or American music. Below are our findings of albums we recommended to one another, mostly released by artists who are seen as 'classics' within their own genre. The only rule was no repetition of artists.
All Things Must Pass - George Harrison
Despite its extraordinary length, Harrison succeeds at keeping the audience's attention for most of the album. His masterful combination of beautiful melodies and striking lyrics make this the best solo album by any of the Beatles.

Excitable Boy -
Warren Zevon
Zevon combines some pop belters with some songs that sound like they have been written by a teen trying and failing to be profound. An inconsistent album, often let down by his affected voice and ludicrous lyrics.

An album of two halves. I don't quite buy him as a rocker, but his ballads are second-to-none.

True Blue -
Madonna
I failed to gel with this album. It felt like a soundtrack or a Broadway musical album, rather than a selection of pop bangers I could sing and dance along to.
For me, possibly Madonna's best album. A pop masterpiece - JD

Geronimo's Cadillac -Michael Martin Murphey
Murphey exquisitely merges gospel and piano-rock with his innately Southern soul to create a selection of songs that evoke a series of emotions. The album challenged all existing prejudices I had about country music.
